Dr. Monica Trifas is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Jacksonville State University (JSU). Dr. Trifas’ research interests include Digital/Video Image Processing, Medical Imaging, Human-Computer Interaction, Bioinformatics, Artificial Intelligence, Information Assurance and Data Visualization. The faculty members of the MCIS Department are committed to attract talented students in math and computer science. Dr. Trifas coordinated the outreach efforts in the past four years. Several faculty members from the MCIS Department visited high-schools in the surrounding areas to promote our Math and CS/CIS undergraduate programs to high-school students. Dr. Trifas also coached several teams of students from Kitty Stone Elementary School for the Elementary Science Olympiad in the last 12 years.
