Brent Thomas

Brent Thomas serves as an Investigator and Instructor with the Jacksonville State University Center for Applied Forensics. A native of Calhoun County, Alabama, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Jacksonville State University in 1984. Brent began his service in the United States Marine Corps Reserve in 1979, serving honorably for nine years. In recognition of his exemplary performance, he was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal by the Secretary of the Navy. His law enforcement career first began in 1997 with the Alabama Department of Public Safety. In 2003, he joined the Alabama Bureau of Investigation, where he advanced through the ranks and was promoted to Sergeant in 2013. In 2016, Mr. Thomas joined the Center for Applied Forensics team, where he continues to contribute his expertise in investigative work and law enforcement training.
