Aimee Weathers is an Instructor of Early Childhood Education at Jacksonville State University, where she has been teaching for nine years. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary/Early Childhood Education from the University of West Alabama, a Master of Science in Instructional Leadership (P-12) and a Master of Science in Elementary Education from Jacksonville State University, and an Education Specialist degree in Elementary Education from the University of West Alabama. She is also a National STEM Certified Teacher.
With a diverse background that began with teaching first grade and pre-K, Aimee brings a wealth of practical experience to her role as an educator. She is an active member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and regularly participates in professional development activities to stay current with the latest advancements in the field. Additionally, Aimee serves as an NAEYC site reviewer.
Aimee's dedication to excellence in education has been recognized twice by the Gadsden Chamber of Commerce for her outstanding work in STEAM education. Jacksonville State University has also honored her with the George Mehaffy Excellence in Learning Technology Faculty Award (2021) and the Cleo and Carla Thomas Faculty Award (2023) for Service Learning.
Specializing in Early Childhood Math and Science, as well as STEAM education, Aimee is passionate about fostering a love for learning in young children. Her ultimate goal is to cultivate meaningful relationships with her students and empower them to reach their full potential in the classroom.
