Candice Byers is an instructor at Jacksonville State University College of Education and Professional Studies. She earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education and English from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2008. She taught 7th grade English Language Arts for fifteen years at Odenville Middle School in St. Clair County. She earned a master’s degree in secondary education in 2017 and an Ed.S. in 2018 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She achieved National Board Certification for English Language Arts in Early Adolescence in 2021. She is currently finishing her Ph.D. at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
