Who We Are

We are home to 10 undergraduate programs for grades 6-12; four undergraduate programs for Preschool -grade 12; seven master's programs for grades 6-12, and two Preschool - grade 12 master's level programs.

Each of our program offerings is currently accredited by the Alabama State Department of Education, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. Each degree program is evaluated and updated on a regular basis to assure that our programs are of the highest quality. We have carefully created opportunities for teacher education candidates to implement knowledge gained from coursework in your major through practica and internship experiences. This combination of experiences in the university classroom and opportunities in the real world, will prepare you to be an effective classroom teacher, giving you the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed for successful employment upon completion of your program of study.

To prepare professional educators to be knowledgeable, ethical, caring, creative decision makers and learners in a diverse society through degree programs grounded in educational research, theory, and best practices, including pedagogy rich with content knowledge, integrated technologies, innovative practices, and opportunities for reflection.
