Mr. Michael Walker is an instructor in the Lyons & Company, Inc. Department of Management and Marketing at Jacksonville State University (Jax State), where he teaches Business and Organizational Communication. Mr. Walker earned his Bachelor of Technology (BT) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Jax State. Prior to his current role, Mr. Walker faithfully served as Audio Visual Technician, Audio Visual Analyst, and Coordinator of Audio Visual Services in the Audio Visual Department at Jax State for fourteen (14) years.
His incredible work ethic has not gone unnoticed. In 2017, he was the Jax State SGA's Staff Member of the Year. He was also Jax State's Employee of the Month twice, and in 2018, Mr. Walker made history as Jax State's first African American Employee of the Year.
Mr. Walker’s commitment to personal and professional development is not just a philosophy, but a way of life. This is evident in his active participation in various organizations, including the Association for Business Communication (ABC), Project Management Institute (PMI), the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA), where he serves as a Mentor, the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association (AVIXA), and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), where he serves as a Character Coach. His dedication to learning is further demonstrated by his 2024 certificate in Executive Leadership from the University of Alabama (UA).
Mr. Walker’s entrepreneurial spirit and creativity extend beyond the classroom. As the owner of NAAN Productions (pronounced nay-ann), he has made significant contributions to the music industry. NAAN Productions offers music production, audiovisual, motivational speaking, and consultation services. In addition, Mr. Walker is also the pastor of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Sylacauga, Alabama.
Mr. Walker has been married to his best friend, Dr. Angela Walker, since 2000. Her award-winning memoir, "There is Lyfe After Death: Moving Forward After a Miscarriage," was published by Trinity Broadcasting Network in 2018. She is also Associate Provost of the School of Humanities and Fine Arts at Talladega College. Mr. Walker and Dr. Walker often present together. They reside in Anniston, Alabama.
