In college at Youngstown State University, I majored in Management Engineering which was an engineering degree with some coursework in business and economics. I was an entrepreneur for nine years out of college at a small commercial construction firm. During the last three plus years of that entrepreneurial experience, I went to night law school. For the next several years, I was in private practice as a business attorney, becoming partner at a major Cleveland business firm. In that role, I worked on several matters concerning entrepreneurs. For the last five years before entering academia, I served as VP/General Counsel in the energy services industry at an entrepreneurial subsidiary of a public corporation. While there, I earned an Executive MBA at the University of Michigan and supplemented that training with a Professional Certificate at Columbia University. In 2019, I earned my PhD in Entrepreneurship at the University of Louisville and started my career at JSU as an Assistant Professor of Management.
