Our students are learning to apply engineering principles to make the world a better place. If you are interested in helping to solve the manufacturing challenges of the 21st century such as workplace safety, industrial automation, control systems, and effective industrial leadership, then the Department of Applied Engineering is the place for you.
At JSU, we prioritize the excellence of our applied engineering program and we achieve this through small classes taught by faculty (not graduate students), high faculty-student interaction, and an emphasis on the industrial application of engineering theory.
Our Mission
The mission of the Department of Applied Engineering is to educate an undergraduate and graduate student body for successful careers in a dynamically changing global environment. Our programs are designed for those with an orientation towards the application of engineering and management concepts to solving complex real-world problems. 4+1 MBA Program
The 4 + 1 MBA allows applied engineering undergraduates to seamlessly transition into the Master of Business Administration - General Concentration program.
All undergraduate programs as well as the graduate program are accredited by ATMAE: The Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering.
