Lexy Humphrey - Victory Cheer & Tumble

Jax State Alumni Takes Top Honors in 2024 Etowah County Chamber Small Business Awards

Victory Cheer owner Lexy Humphrey and family

When Lexy Humphrey (’16) began her journey at Jax State, she did so because it was close to home. The Piedmont native says she was looking for something local to her hometown without sacrificing opportunity, and according to Humphrey, that’s exactly what she found at Jax State. “My time at Jax State was pivotal in my growth toward becoming a business owner. I developed traits that I use and carry with me daily.” As a part of the Jax State cheerleaders, Humphrey was not only able to fulfill her dream of cheering at the collegiate level, but a new dream also began to take shape. Today, at just 30 years old, Lexy Humphrey and her husband own and operate Victory Cheer & Tumble, Victory Preschool, Humphrey Land Investments and Southeastern Land Management.

In her time at Jax State, Humphrey cheered, was an active member of Phi Mu Fraternity, and worked in the athletic department. Through the clubs, teams and organizations that I participated in at Jax State, I was able to take chances and face challenges head-on. These experiences helped prepare me for my career, business ownership and everyday life.”

Those chances Humphrey has taken, and the challenges she has faced have not come without reward. On November 8, 2024, among two dozen finalists at the Etowah County Small Business of the Year Awards Luncheon, Victory Cheer & Tumble took top honors as Community Leader of the Year.

Humphrey reminds future students to take full advantage of every opportunity at Jax State. “Put yourself out there to learn from others. Try new things, and don’t give up, even if you’re told no. Put yourself out there, even if it’s scary.”
