Timothy H. Lindblom, Ph.D.

Tim Lindblom is the founding dean of the College of Science and Mathematics at Jacksonville State University in Alabama. The school was created during a reorganization shortly after Lindblom joined JSU in 2016 as the head of the biology department. First as a department chair and continuing into his deanship, Lindblom has actively promoted positive student outcomes and success through curricular revision, enhanced student mentoring, and improved advising.

Through his latest project, the Improving Science Education Initiative, Lindblom seeks to improve classroom and laboratory teaching by incentivizing active learning approaches with his faculty. Prior to JSU, Lindblom spent fourteen years at Lyon College in Arkansas where he served as the Willie Dillard Bryan Professor of Biology and chair of the Division of Natural Science. While at Lyon, Lindblom lived with his family on campus as the freshman house family for three years. Lindblom was named the 2008 Arkansas Professor of the Year and won the Lamar Williamson Prize for Faculty Excellence at Lyon in 2009.

He is the founding editor of Aletheia, the Alpha Chi Journal of Undergraduate Scholarship.
