On-Campus

A

Instruction occurs in the physical classroom, lab, or other on-campus meeting space at regularly scheduled times. This instructional method is the most common.

Online

D

Instruction occurs fully online with no on-campus requirements. Instruction may be asynchronous or synchronous. 

Hybrid

Y

Instruction occurs partially on campus and partially online. Class meetings, whether in-person or synchronous online, will be held at regularly scheduled times.

Field-Based

E

Learning experience occurs at an off-campus location but limited on-campus meetings may be required. Typical field-based experiences include internship, practicum, and clinical experience.

BL1

Most class meetings (more than 50%) occurring in the classroom with some class meetings and/or coursework online. Scheduled dates and times must be entered into Banner.

Hybrid (mostly online)

BL2

Most class meetings and/or coursework (more than 50%) occurring online with some class meetings in the classroom. Scheduled dates and times must be entered into Banner.

Lab

LAB

Hands-on or virtual learning experiences associated with a specific class.

Online (asynchronous)

ONL

All coursework occurring online. No on-campus meetings required, and no scheduled online meeting times required.

Synchronous Online

SON

All class meetings and coursework occurring online. No on-campus meetings required, but with class meeting online at regularly scheduled times. Scheduled dates and times must be entered into Banner.

Site-Based

SB

Learning experiences such as internship, clinical, practicum, and field study.

Studio

STU

Individual or small-group, supervised instruction usually in the fine arts.
