Kitty Stone Group Enjoys Field School Gathering

On October 28th, the Kitty Stone Elementary School's fifth grade had a wild experience. JSU Field Schools Coordinator Renee Morrison, the USFS Shoal Creek Ranger District, and JSU students (Chris Raney, Clifford Webb, Sara Viernum, Matthew Grizzard, Lori Humphries & other volunteers) presented learning stations at Coleman Lake that included a live animal show, a Leave No Trace hike, ecology programs, interpretive lake hikes, and information about how to fight forest fires. The Field School offers K-12 field trips for school groups, scout groups, church groups and others "from the deepest canyon to the highest mountain in Alabama."
