JSU Opera Students in Scene from Opera "Lakeme"

A scene from Jacksonville State University's recent opera, "Lakme," which was performed at Mason Hall Performance Center, was photographed by Leslie Gober. The production was a tale of forbidden love between a Brahmin priest's daughter and a British officer. In this scene the priest's daughter (Kimberly Miller Westbrooks, soprano, from Anniston) and her servant (Jessica Smith, mezzo soprano, from Hartselle) share a moment singing of what is happening to the daughter and how the love between her and the officer can never be. The young ladies study with Dr. Nathan Wight, assistant professor of music. Dr. Wight directs the Opera Program at JSU.
