Morgan Mowen Wins iPod for Completing Campus Survey

Morgan Mowen

Freshman Morgan Mowen received a special Homecoming surprise Thursday when she was notified that she was the winner of the 2GB Apple iPod Nano given in conjunction with the Strategic Planning Committee's Core Values Survey.

A pre-business major from Carrollton, Ga., Ms. Mowen is also a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority who works at Curves in Jacksonville when not attending class.

The Core Values Survey, consisting of separate surveys for faculty/staff and students, was created to gather important information about Jacksonville State University's core values from the university's stakeholders. Students who participated in the survey and provided contact information were automatically entered in the drawing for the iPod, which was provided through the JSU Foundation via the vice president of institutional advancement. Data from the Core Values Survey, which concluded Oct. 17, is being analyzed and will be released in the near future.

When told that she had won the random drawing, Ms. Mowen admitted that she completed the quick survey on a lark and didn't really expect to win because she had never won anything before. After a bit of convincing, she was excited to learn that her award was indeed a treat, and not a trick. For the five minutes it took her to complete the survey, Ms. Mowen can now enjoy 500 music files.
