Obituary

Dr. Blake Otwell



OTWELL, HUGH, "BLAKE", age 55, of Leeds, AL, died Friday, October 29, 2004. He graduated from Auburn University in 1976 with a Ph.D. in biochemistry. He was an active member of the Sierra Club. He was a professor at Jacksonville State University where he taught chemistry. He was a member of Leeds Assembly of God. Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Otwell of Leeds; sons, Jeff Otwell (Jennifer) of Argo and Josh Otwell (Lee) of Odenville; daughter, Chance Otwell of Leeds; grandchildren, Jacob, Justin, Jackson and Abbie Grace Otwell; mother-in-law, Nina Reed of Leeds; sisters, Judy Bradford and longtime friend Randy Jones of Alabaster; nieces, Kelley Orso and Robin Green. Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 2, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Joe Wooodfin officiated.
