9 November, 2004 — Jacksonville State University’s Campaign Office has announced four who are familiar to the university to chair its campaign to raise $17.5 million. They are Bob Kennamer and Randy Owen, who are on the board of trustees, and David Hale and Alex Baker, who are on the foundation board.

Mr. Kennamer (1958) is a retired agent for State Farm and lives in Anniston.

Mr. Owen (1973) is a recording artist with the group “Alabama.” He lives in Fort Payne.

Mr. Baker (1976) is president and CEO of AIG Baker Developers of Birmingham.

Mr. Hale (1970) is president and CEO of CancerFax Corp. in Carlsbad, California (photo not available).

The "Power of 125...Join the Celebration!" is a comprehensive campaign to raise $17.5 million to support all five of the university's colleges in providing new facilities, creating three centers of excellence, establishing endowments and chairs, adding student scholarships, expanding infrastructure and technology, and sustaining the Fund for Excellence. The numeral "125" represents the year 2008, which is JSU's 125th anniversary and the year that the campaign's initiatives will be completed.
