JSU Planetarium is Focal Point of October Academe Meeting

21 October 2004 -- Academe will hold its October meeting at the JSU planetarium in Martin Hall at 3:15 p.m. on October 25. Meet Drs. Kelly Gregg and Laura Weinkauf in the lobby of Martin before proceeding to the planetarium, where they will demonstrate the features of this "extremely sophisticated system, the best of its kind the the region."

They will show attendees how the planetarium can be used not only for standard shows but for displaying almost any type of digital imagery. Drs. Gregg and Weinkauf promise a sampling of everything the projector can do (they even guarantee motion sickness) and will initiate discussion of ways no scientists may use this technology in their classes.

For those who have not visited the planetarium, this is a must-be-there meeting of Academe; for those who have been there, it will be an opportunity to learn some new ways to use the facility. Be sure to join Academe for "Lost in Space: A Demonstration of the JSU Planetarium Projector," on Monday. You won't want to miss this program!

Please contact Gloria Horton, English, at Ext. 5409 or email at ghorton@jsu.edu if you would like more information.
