Flintknapping Exhibition
- Featuring Brian Wilson, Daniel Brooks & Kevin Harrelson
- 3 total: one at 11:00 a.m., another at 2:00 p.m. then a final demonstration at
5:00 p.m.
- Learn how the American Indians made their arrowheads, points &
tools. They will also be available from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. for artifact
identification, so feel free to bring your personal collections.
American Indian Pottery
- Featuring Patsy Hanvey & Sean Williamon
- All day exhibition.
- Learn the process of how American Indians made their pottery.
American Indian Folklore
- Featuring Jenni Jones, Riley Moses & others available throughout the
day.
- After the stories, the children will be asked to finger-paint a picture
of what they just heard. These pictures will be displayed on the third
floor of Martin hall the following week.
Discussion on the Cherokees and Creeks
- Featuring Gail King
- Discussion on "The Cultural Evolution of the Cherokees and Creeks
in Alabama after the Forced Removal of the 1830's".
Also, there will be a drawing for $1,000.00 giveaway, a moonwalk for the
kids and face painting.
