Marvin Jenkins Named |

Dr. Marvin Jenkins, a Jacksonville State University graduate faculty member
and associate professor of counselor education, has been named acting
associate vice president for student affairs at JSU. Dr. Jenkins assumes the role following the retirement of Dr. Alice Cusimano. Jenkins first joined JSU in 1977 as director of the Counseling & Career Services (CCS) office. He holds the Ed.D. in counseling and M.S. in counseling from the University of Southern Mississippi and earned the B.S. in psychology and sociology from State College of Arkansas. After working in various posts with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Nordson Corp. and Literacy Volunteers, Jenkins returned to JSU in 1987 to assume his former position as director of CCS. He returned to teaching full time in 1997 in the College of Education and Professional Studies. He is a member of the Alabama Counseling Association and a past president of the Alabama Association for Humanistic Education & Development. Jenkins, a licensed pilot and veteran of the U.S. Air Force, is a licensed professional counselor and a board certified counseling supervisor. |
