JSU Board of Trustee Chairman Pete Mathews announced he will step down as chairman at the end of the year. Mathews, shown with President Bill Meehan in top photo, has served on the board for 37 years and is one of only two remaining trustees from the founding board created by the legislature when Jacksonville State College was elevated to university status in 1966.
