JACKSONVILLE -- July 24, 2001 --
JACKSONVILLE -- July 24, 2001 -- Dr. David Watts, president of the
University of Texas Permian Basin since June 11 and former JSU vice
president for academic and student affairs, will deliver JSU's commencement
address on Friday, August 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Paul Snow Stadium. In case of
rain, the ceremony will be held in Mathews Coliseum.
Watts served at JSU from 1996 until he accepted the president's post at UT
Permian Basin this spring. He holds a bachelor's in sociology and English
from U. T. Austin and a master's and Ph.D. in sociology from the State
University of New York in Buffalo.
