JSU Music Production of “The Gondoliers” to Air on TV Channel 24

Jacksonville State University’s Opera Theatre production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s “The Gondoliers” will air on TV Channel 24 on Thursday, 29 June at 10:30 p.m. The production was presented in Mason Hall Performance Center earlier this year in May and recorded live.

Directed by Dr. Nathan Wight with the orchestra conducted by Mr. Jeremy Stovall, “The Gondoliers” is a tale of confused identity involving the young heir to the Kingdom of Barataria living, unknown to all, as a Venetian gondolier, possible bigamy and a delightfully happy ending where everything is finally straightened out. The production entertained audiences for a two-week run of performances. The clever words of William Gilbert are cunningly paired with the charming and tuneful music of Sir Arthur Sullivan to create a timeless classic.

If you missed a live performance, you may re-live the excitement in this TV broadcast.
