By Sherry Kughn JSU News Bureau 22 February, 2005 — Funeral services for the former head of the Jacksonville State University music department, Dr. James Fairleigh, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Church of the Ascension in Senaca, South Carolina. The First Presbyterian Church of Anniston will sponsor a bus trip to the funeral for those who wish to attend. Please call Sonia Lipham at the church office at 237-5458 by Wednesday at 3 p.m. to reserve a seat. The bus will leave Anniston at 8 a.m. Thursday. Dr. Fairleigh oversaw the music department's growth for 20 years. He died Sunday of a heart attack while playing for the morning worship services at his church.
