February 19, 2004 -- On Friday Dr. Harvey H. Jackson, III,
Jacksonville
State
University’s Professor and Chair of
History and Foreign Language, will speak and sign copies of his book, Inside Alabama: A Personal History of My
State, at the Alabama Booksmith book store in
Birmingham.
Jackson will speak at about
4 p.m. and again at 5 p.m. The booksigning lasts until 6 p.m.
Jackson’s book tells of
Alabama’s history from the
prehistoric days up until the time of the election of Governor Bob Riley.
The Alabama Booksmith promotes
Alabama authors among the reading
public by hosting author signings, book clubs, and receptions. They can be
