Summertime Outdoor Fun |
The JSU Field School is proud to present summer Nature Camps loaded with outdoor learning activities for the young scientist in your family. Nature Camp 1: First and Second Graders Date: June 3 – June 7 Pre-registration: May 27th This camp will focus on the study of Native Americans of Alabama. Students will learn Native American games, participate in Native American storytelling, and make numerous crafts. Nature Camp 2: Third and Fourth Graders Date: June 10 – June 14 Pre-registration: June 3rd This camp will focus on the development of young naturalists. There will be a wide range of activities to please both “outdoorsy” types and “lab-scientists.” Activities will include building birdhouses, making dirt shirts, and cooking with solar energy. Nature Camp 3: Fifth and Sixth Graders Dates: June 24 – 28 Pre-registration: June 17th This camp is designed to help expand the future scientist knowledge in a hands-on, fun way. Activities will include fossil hunting, plant and insect collecting, and constructing food webs. Prices for Camps: $120.00 per child (includes all meals, snacks, craft materials, & field trips) Times for Camps: Drop-off 8:00 am – 9:00 a.m. Pick-up 4:00 pm – 5:00 p.m. *Individual activities will be scheduled for the hours of drop-off & pick-up times.
