JSU and ASTD Offer Conference for Training Professionals |
JACKSONVILLE -- January 24, 2002 -- Jacksonville State University and the Greater Birmingham Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) will hold a day-long conference on March 22 titled "Partnering for Performance: Results, Opportunities, Ideas." Training professionals are invited to attend this conference, which is set for the Richard M. Scrushy Conference Center in Birmingham. The program will feature Walter Kimbrough, who will detail Federal Express’ employee relations philosophy, and Jerry Aull who is affiliated with Franklin Covey and is recognized by the National Speaker’s Association on the topic of time management. After a period of rapid technological advances in the latter part of the 20th Century, corporate America has come full circle. Companies are recognizing that people, not technology systems, are the driving force behind real corporate success in the new millennium. Emotional Intelligence, Strategic Planning, and Retention of High Performers are now all key challenges for survival in the twenty-first century. In addition to the keynote speakers, attendees of “Partnering for Performance” will benefit from training tailor-made for varied experience levels; overviews of new training trends in career development, technology and strategic planning; and networking with fellow trainers from throughout the region. Early bird registration is $95 and includes breaks, lunch and all conference materials. For more information or to register, call the JSU Office of Continuing Education at 1-800-634-7199. |
