JACKSONVILLE -- May
15, 2001 -- The JSU Department of Criminal Justice is sponsoring a free
seminar on self-defense for women, which will be taught in the Dance Studio
of Mathews Coliseum on Thursday, May 17 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m..
Instruction will include
basic and advanced measures to thwart situations ranging from attempted
muggings to rapes.
Police Chief Val Courtney
of Centre, Al., and Ms. Eva Cooper, class instructors, are highly qualified
self-defense instructors who have offered this course throughout the state.
Participants will
receive a Certificate of Completion.
