Dr. McIntosh Named Head |

Jamie M. Eubanks JSU News Bureau Jacksonville -- April 9, 2001 -- Dr. W. Legare McIntosh, Jr. has been named Head of the Jacksonville State University Department of Music, replacing Dr. James Fairleigh, who has retired. McIntosh hales from Salisbury, North Carolina where he is currently serving as Professor of Music at Catawba College. Here he has served as Chief Administrator of the Music Department. He received his bachelor of arts degree from the University of South Carolina, his master of arts from Columbia University, his master of science degree from the University of South California. McIntosh later returned to Columbia University and received his doctor of education. McIntosh also served as an officer in the United States Air Force. Here he received the Meritorious Service Medal and the Air Force Commendation Medal. JSU's new Music Administrator will assume his position August 1, 2001. |
