Kaleidoscope Event To Feature JSU Chamber Winds |

JACKSONVILLE -- February 23, 2001 --
The JSU Chamber Winds will perform as part of the Kaleidoscope
festivities at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March
9 at Ernest Stone Performing Arts Center Theatre. Dr. John Merriman, trumpet professor at JSU, will be guest soloist. He will perform Hummel Trumpet Concerto with the group. The ensemble will also perform "The Cowboys" by John Williams and "Ghost Train" by Eric Whitacre, which imitates the sound of the 30's steam engines. The ensemble will dedicate the performance to Dr. David Watts, outgoing Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, in gratitude for his contribution to JSU and music students.
