2024 Annual Gamecock Entrepreneurial Pitch Competition

entrepreneurial pitch competitionThe College of Business and Industry hosted the very first Annual Gamecock Entrepreneurial Pitch Competition on April 6th, 2024, in Merrill Hall B01. The event began with an all-campus invitation to submit and executive summary for an entrepreneurial concept pitch. Fifty students from several colleges across the JSU campus participated. The executive summary graders were Mrs. Amy Simon, and Mrs. Cassie Ward and Dr. Celestine Valentin. Twenty finalists were selected from the executive summary submissions. These twenty finalists prepared entrepreneurial pitch decks and presented on Saturday, April 6th, 2024. Four judges from the surrounding community offered their expertise to select the top pitches: Mrs. Linda Hearn, President and CEO of Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce; Mr. Ken Grissom, Director of Small Business Development Center; Mrs. Christi Johnson, President and CEO of Etowah County Chamber of Commerce; Mr. Corey McWhorter, Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Banking-Regions Bank, Anniston.

Congratulations to all who participated. The culture of entrepreneurship is gaining momentum on the JSU campus and those who participated reflected the spirit of excellence of all Jacksonville State University administration, faculty, staff and students.
