One of country music's biggest stars and Jacksonville's own, Riley Green, will host a charity softball game to benefit Jacksonville State University Athletics on Friday, August 6 at Rudy Abbott Field at Jim Case Stadium.
Gates will open at 6 p.m. with the game starting at 7 p.m. Green will have an acoustical performance following the game. Tickets for the benefit event are $20 and are available online at JSUGamecockSports.com and will be sold at the stadium ticket office.
"We're excited to host Riley and his friends at Rudy Abbott Field at Jim Case Stadium" said Greg Seitz, Jacksonville State's Director of Athletics. "This is a great chance for Riley's fans to come out for an entertaining evening, while also getting to hear the country music star sing some of his favorite songs following the game."
Named 2020 ACM Awards New Male Artist of the Year, Billboard describes Green's music as "accessible, winning songs" while American Songwriter proclaims his "storytelling talents shine bright." Whiskey Riff further notes he is part of a small group who have "brought country back to its roots: the blue collar sounds for the working man, by the working man," evident in his No. 1 GOLD-certified debut "There Was This Girl" and PLATINUM-certified ballad "I Wish Grandpas Never Died."
Riley is currently touring with Dierks Bentley's on a 22-run show called BEERS ON ME TOUR, in addition to his own successful headline dates. He has previously toured with Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley and Jon Pardi over the last several years.
