Library Launches COVID-19 Archival Project

05/13/2020

In the interests of historical preservation and informing future study, the Houston Cole Library seeks to document the effect of COVID-19 on JSU’s campus community. To this end, the library is requesting materials from JSU administration, faculty, staff and students to create a COVID-19 Archive. The library is especially interested in materials that highlight the student and faculty experience. The goal will be to make these materials publicly accessible for research.

The library seeks materials related to the pandemic and pertaining to the JSU community. They include, but are not limited to:

  • Administration: Campus-wide informational communications, memos, emails, websites and other works released to the university community
  • Faculty & Staff: Communications regarding course or other pedagogical changes, emails, memos, departmental guidelines and planning documentation, COVID-related course assignments or projects for students, stories, observations, images, video
  • Students: Student-created content such as product from COVID-related assignments, blogs, stories, art, journals, observations, images, video

Learn more here. If you have content but are unsure if it would be appropriate for the archive, please email digitalcommons@jsu.edu or call 256-782-8195 for assistance.
