Get into the “spirit” of the season on JSU's campus at one of many Halloween events scheduled for 2018. 

Oct. 23: Movie Night, featuring “Hocus Pocus” and “Hereditary,” at 7 p.m., at the Kappa Sigma House. This fundraiser, held in support of Military Heroes, is open to everyone. Movie Only: $3; Movie and Popcorn, $5; Movie, Popcorn and Drinks, $7; Hotdogs, $2. Everyone is welcome. 

Oct. 24: Pumpkin Carving Competition, 6 p.m., at the Kappa Sigma House. Open to all. 

Oct. 25: Trunk or Treat, 5-8 p.m., in the parking lot of the International House, organized by the International Student Organization and the Multicultural Student Center. The free public event will feature games, music, face painting, cotton candy, drinks, popcorn and candy. There will be a contest for the best decorated trunk. Donate candy to the event in the Housing Office. 

Oct. 26: International Student Organization Halloween Party, 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., at the International House, featuring a costume contest and free food.

Oct. 29: Harvest Festival, 5-7 p.m., on the Quad. The SGA invites JSU student groups to table at this annual community event, where children enjoy fun, games, and trick or treating. Enjoy a Halloween themed dinner in the Jack Hopper Dining Hall, 4:30-7 p.m.

Oct. 29: Carnival Night at the Cafe', 4:30-7 p.m., Jack Hopper Dining Hall. Enjoy a Halloween carnival themed menu of kid-friendly, all-you-care-to-eat grub: burgers, curly fries, pizza, pasta, bbq pork sandwiches, soft baked pretzels, popcorn, themed cakes and desserts, soft serve ice cream and cotton candy.

Oct. 29: Halloween Photo Booth, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Anders Hall (Roundhouse). To help raise funds to attend a conference in the spring, the Photo Club is hosting a photo booth with fun Halloween backgrounds and props. For $5, have your photos taken and receive one 4x6 inch print. Additional prints are $2. Cash preferred. 

Oct. 30: 10th Annual Tubaween, 7:30 p.m., 5th floor of Meehan Hall. The beloved annual musical event spotlight the talents of the JSU Tuba Euphonium Ensemble, ENCORE! show choir and the JSU Steel Band. During intermission, a costume contest will be held with the categories of best overall costume, scariest, funniest and most creative. Candy will be dispersed to children who want to trick or treat. 

Oct. 30: Movie Night, featuring “Halloweentown” and “The Nun,” at 7 p.m. at the Kappa Sigma House. This fundraiser, held in support of Military Heroes, is open to everyone. Movie Only: $3; Movie and Popcorn, $5; Movie, Popcorn and Drinks, $7; Hotdogs, $2. Everyone is welcome. 

Oct. 31: Level Up Halloween Game Night, 6 p.m. to Midnight, in the Ayers Hall student lounge. Six game rooms will be set up with all kinds of games - including multiplayer, horror and PC. Wear your favorite costume and come out for a night of food and fun. 

Oct. 31: Costume Competition, Games and Movie Night featuring “Halloween” at 6 p.m. at the Kappa Sigma House. This fundraiser, held in support of Military Heroes, is open to everyone. Movie Only: $3; Movie and Popcorn, $5; Movie, Popcorn and Drinks, $7; Hotdogs, $2. The costume contest winner will receive $25. 

Oct. 31: The Dead Presidents Ball, presented by the History Club, 6-10 p.m., on the 11th floor of Houston Cole Library. Enjoy refreshments, games, trivia and a costume contest. Everyone is welcome. 

Door Decorating Contest: Housing residents are invited to participate in a fall door decorating contest through noon on Oct. 29. To enter, post a photo of your door to Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter using #LiveCocky and tagging @jsuhousing. All entries will be posted to an album on Facebook and the photo with the most “likes” wins a prize pack.

Pumpkin Decorating Contest: Pick up a free pumpkin at Jack Hopper Dining Hall, decorate it, and bring it back for judging by Oct. 30. First Place will win $50 in FLEX Dollars, Second Place will win $25 in FLEX Dollars, and Third Place will win $15 in FLEX dollars. Winners will be announced on Halloween.
