The JSU Peer Educators and several other student organizations are participating in Operation Beautiful, a campaign to post anonymous notes of encouragement in public places to promote positive body images and combat negative self-talk.

The following student groups are scribbling words of kindness - such as “Smile, You’re Beautiful” or “You Are Not Alone” - on sticky notes and posting them around campus through the end of the spring semester:

  • Active Minds
  • Alpha Phi Omega
  • Collegiate Recovery Community
  • Delta Omicron
  • Delta Omicron Pi
  • Delta Sigma Theta
  • Delta Zeta
  • Gamma Sigma Sigma
  • International Student Organization
  • Kingdom Culture Ministries
  • NAACP
  • Residence Life
  • Zeta Phi Eta

Operation Beautiful was created by North Carolina woman Caitlin Boyle, who has struggled with body image issues herself and believes that self-esteem is a major issue for men and women of all ages. Operation Beautiful has become a worldwide movement, even being featured on the Oprah Winfrey Network and the Today Show.

Feel free to post your own note and remember that we are all beautiful and we are all enough!
