JSU Tennis Coach to Offer Community Tennis Clinics

Robert Kjellberg, assistant tennis coach, is now offering tennis clinics for kids and adults. Sessions are open to youth ages 6-12 and adults ages 21 and older (beginners and advanced). Clinics will include tennis drills for players of all levels.

Prior to coaching at JSU, Kjellberg served as an assistant tennis coach at Adidas Tennis Camp in Bastad, Sweden; assistant coach at North Carolina Wesleyan College; Tennis Pro at Vaxjo TS and TK77 in Sweden; and has coached and played for several of the best coaches in Sweden and the world: Stefan Edberg, Per Hjertquist, Fredrik Rosengren, Tobbe Thestrup, Ulf Oller, Laurent Blot and more.

During his time as a player, Kjellberg was ranked among the top 10 in Sweden, ranked #2 in the nation in singles and doubles for the NCAA, All-American 2012-15, NCAA National Runner-Up 2012-13 and 2015, won three ITA Regional Championships, played professionally for Växjö Club in Swedish top division, played professionally on the ITF Future Tour, went three years to the Tennis Academy in Sweden for high school and a four-year college in North Carolina, where he earned his bachelor’s in exercise science.

Clinics will be $7 an hour per person (for 3 or more players) and can be booked at any time. Time slots are available during weekday mornings or during the weekend.
