Campus Asked to Remain Weather Aware as Storm Front Approaches

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued several statements and watches ahead of a potentially severe storm system forecast for much of Alabama tonight and into Wednesday morning. Due to the timing we anticipate no disruption to events or services at JSU; however, we ask JSU students and employees to remain weather aware and strongly encourage everyone to sign up for E-Alert, review the emergency safety plans for your campus buildings, and stand by for further weather-related announcements.

Our area is under a Flash Flood Watch from 3 p.m. today to 3 p.m. tomorrow, and a Wind Advisory from 3 p.m. today to 9 p.m. tomorrow.

Any weather statements relevant to JSU's operations will be shared on the JSU website, via JSU E-Alert and email, through local print and broadcast media, and on the university's social media platforms.
