724 Receive Degrees at JSU Spring Commencement on May 1

Seven hundred twenty-four candidates received degrees from Jacksonville State University on May 1, making up the second largest graduating class in the university’s history. JSU President Dr. William A. Meehan presented the degrees during what was his last commencement at Burgess-Snow Field, as he will retire at the end of June. JSU alumna Vonda White, founder and executive director of Camp Pillsbury in Minnesota, presented the commencement address.

Leading the class and graduating summa cum laude were: Calvin Charles Patrick Baker, Bachelor of Science in Biology; Olivia Claire Brown, Bachelor of Arts in Music; Sierra Justine Coleman, Bachelor of Arts in English; Elise Marie Erb, Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Criminal Justice; Daniel Brett Jackson, Bachelor of Science in Biology; Kelly Nicole Martin, Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Languages; Bonaventure Bisong Mbella, Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Cassidy Beth McDougale, Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology;  Bailee Brooke Mills, Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Wellness; Jasmine Daniell Moten, Bachelor of Science in Psychology; Olga Awuor Ochieng, Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Amanda Leigh Parker, Bachelor of Arts in History; Nicholas Blanton Posey, Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Carrie Danielle Shaw, Bachelor of Arts in Drama; and Ashley Arrington Skinner, Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
