Canyon Center to Host Family Fun Activities on Saturday, May 2

Come enjoy a fun-filled family day of mad science and learn how to survive a zombie apocalypse at JSU's Little River Canyon Center on Saturday, May 2, 2015. 

Canyon Fiesta - 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

There will be games, arts and crafts, music, door prizes, nature education programs and more. Admission is free. 

Mad Science and Crazy Art - 11:00 a.m. until Noon 

Kids ages 6-10 can put their hands into mad science and crazy art experiments hosted by the Canyon Center Gift Shop. Mad science days may include chemical magic, special effects, bubbling potions, slimes, high-bouncing balls, while the crazy art days will include a mix of science into art for some crazy but beautiful artistic creations with buttons, strings, recycled materials, dirt paint and more!

The cost is $5 per child to cover project supply cost; pre-registration is required. 

Zombie Apocalypse Survival Day at Noon until 4:00 p.m. 

This popular JSU Field School field trip is now being offered to the general public. Have a fun, imaginative day learning water filtration, basic first aid, shelter building, how NOT to be found, primitive skills and more! Taught by JSU Field Schools’ ZERO (Zombie Emergency Response Operations) Commanders. Each participant will receive a “ZERO” passport with certification stickers for participation. 

The cost is $14 per participant (children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian).
