Weather Update: Classes to Start on Time, High School Basketball Delayed

After consulting with the Calhoun County EMA and reviewing forecasts from the National Weather Service and Alabama Department of Transportation, Jacksonville State University is planning to start on time as scheduled on Tuesday, Feb. 17. If conditions worsen overnight, an E-Alert will be sent out through the university's Emergency Alert System. All students, faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to sign up for E-Alerts.

The Northeast Regional Basketball Tournament being hosted on campus this week will delay the start time of the first game to 10 a.m. – pushing the schedule back one hour, with the remaining five games played 1 hour and 45 minutes apart instead of the usual two hours. The schedule is as follows:

10 a.m. – 7A Girls Championship: Gadsden City vs. Huntsville

11:45 a.m. – 7A Boys Championship: Mountain Brook vs. Gadsden City

1:30 p.m. – 2A Girls Championship: Section vs. Fyffe

3:15 p.m. – 2A Boys Championship: Fyffe vs. Vincent

5 p.m. – 1A Girls Championship: Woodville vs. Spring Garden

6:45 p.m. – 1A Boys Championship: Sacred Heart vs. Talladega County Central
