Connect With Your Future at Chamber's February 23 'Get Linked' Event

02/18/2015

Monday, February 23, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce will host its semi-annual Get Linked event for students at the Hampton Inn in Jacksonville. The goal of the event is to provide students the opportunity to connect with area professionals and employers of all levels.

This event will include a Q&A for students with an area professional panel to answer questions concerning resumes, interviews, work experience, degrees and a meet and mingle time for students to connect with those who attend.

The Spring 2015 panel consists of Shannon Jenkins of the United Way, Tommie Goggans of the Goggans Group, Inc., Deirdre Long of BizBuzz, and Brigitte Sailors of Kelly Services, Inc.

We want to link students with area business leaders and help them create connections that will aid them in clinching this semester's internship or tomorrow’s dream job. With representatives from the world of human resources, non-profits, finance, technology and communications, we want students to hear from those active in the business world today.

The Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce, an area organization representing more than 1,200 member businesses and individuals, sees the talents and resources of Jacksonville State University and Gadsden State. Many of our area businesses and organizations are searching for talent, whether it is for internships or entry level positions.
