Calhoun County Civic Chorale to Perform Winter Concert on December 7

On Sunday, December 7, 2014 at 3:00 p.m., the Calhoun County Civic Chorale will be performing its Winter Concert at the Church of St. Michael and All Angels in Anniston, AL. The featured works on the program are Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Cantata 140,” “Sleepers Awake!” and Antonio Vivaldi’s “Gloria.” Guest soloists on the program will be Teresa Cheatham Stricklin and Nathan Wight.

The Chorale is one of five choral ensembles sponsored by the David L. Walters Department of Music at Jacksonville State University and is under the direction of Dr. Patricia Corbin, JSU Director of Choral Activities. Parker Memorial organist Vicki Brock is the Chorale’s accompanist. The Chorale’s membership includes community members as well as JSU students and faculty, and this concert will be accompanied by a small chamber orchestra of JSU students and faculty and a professional string quartet. Several Chorale members are also featured soloists.
