Run, Gamecocks, Run-- Annual Gamecock Gallop 5K Set for October 25

10/21/2014

Jacksonville State University's Health, Physical Education, Exercise Science and Recreation (HPER) Club will present the annual Gamecock Gallop 5K on Saturday, October 25 at 8 a.m. at the Pete Mathews Coliseum on the JSU campus.

The Gamecock Gallop 5K began in 2001 and is held annually on the fourth Saturday in October. More than 2,000 runners and walkers from Calhoun, Etowah, St. Clair, Talladega, Cherokee, Birmingham, and many other Alabama counties have participated! We are proudly a part of the Anniston Runner's Club Grand Prix Race Series. Proceeds from the Gamecock Gallop are used to support numerous local and national charities and to provide Health, Physical Education, Exercise Science and Recreation students at JSU an opportunity to attend professional conferences in their field so they may excel as leaders and promote running/walking/movement along with the benefits of staying fit.
