University Will Be Closed January 29

01/28/2014

Jacksonville State University will be closed on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 due to ongoing hazardous weather conditions. All classes have been cancelled.

Stephenson Hall on the JSU campus has been designated a temporary shelter and warming center for any displaced students and employees due to the storm. University Housing and Residence Life have personnel at the warming center to assist displaced individuals in finding a room for the night.

The University plans to operate food service exclusively out of the Gamecock Diner tomorrow. The Diner will be open continuously from 7:00 a.m. until midnight, with the on-screen menu system operational except during the primary buffet meal service times as previously published:

Breakfast 7:00-9:00
Lunch 11:00-2:00
Dinner 4:30-7:00

Door prices for patrons without a meal plan are $6.50, $7.50, and $8.50 respectively for Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner for the all-you-can-eat buffets, which also includes soup/salad,dessert and beverage.

Cash, Credit Cards, Flex Dollars, and regular meal plans are accepted.

Because cell phone towers are overloaded and service is unreliable at this time across carriers, messages distributed via text, cell phone and email from the JSU E-Alert system may not be delivered in a timely manner. Please stay tuned to alternate methods— the JSU website and social media presence, and local media outlets-- for the latest updates on JSU operations, including closings, class cancellations and delays.
