Justice and Civil Rights Initiative Interest Meeting at Merrill Building on January 23

The Justice and Civil Rights Initiative, a new civil and human rights organization at Jacksonville State University, will hold a second interest meeting on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 6:30 p.m. in the Merrill Building, Room 101.

This second interest meeting is to allow those who want to become acquainted with the JCRI, but were unable to attend the first interest meeting on Jan. 16.

The Mission of the Justice and Civil Rights Initiative is to assist in the progression of civil, social and cultural understanding for all people, regardless of gender, race, color, creed, ethnicity, nationality, age, sexual orientation or disability, while providing advocacy to address and investigate acts of civil or human wrongdoing, as well as any other form of inappropriate, potentially harmful, negligent or criminal behavior aimed at infringing upon the rights of an individual or individuals, while also serving as a liaison or representative, be it public or private, to those who are victims of civil or human wrongdoing.
