JSU to Remain Closed on Friday, January 31

UPDATED- January 30, 2014- 3:27 p.m.

Jacksonville State University will remain closed on Friday, January 31, 2014 due to ongoing hazardous road conditions. Classes and full operations will resume on Monday, February 3.

The Residual ACT and CBASE assessments scheduled for Friday have also been postponed. Please check the Testing Services website on Monday, February 3, to learn the new dates.

Stephenson Hall on the JSU campus has been designated a temporary shelter and warming center for any displaced students and employees. University Housing and Residence Life have personnel at the warming center to assist displaced individuals in finding a room.

Campus dining options for Friday, January 31 are as follows:

  • The Gamecock Diner will be open continously from 7:00 am till 7:00 pm with an enhanced touch-screen menu available all day.
  • The Food Court in TMB will be open from 11:00 am till 4:00 pm.
  • The emergency repairs at Hopper Dining Hall will be completed tomorrow, so regular posted dining schedules and operations for all venues will resume Saturday, 2/1. http://dining.jsu.edu/hours.html.

The Campus Bookstore in TMB will be open on Friday 1/31 from 7:00 am till 4:00 pm.

Because cell phone towers have experienced problems during this weather event, messages distributed via text, cell phone and email from the JSU E-Alert system may not be delivered in a timely manner.
