UPD to Host Campus-wide Active Threat Tabletop Exercise Dec. 17

Jacksonville State University Police Department will conduct an active threat tabletop exercise on Dec. 17. All faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to attend.

What: Active Threat Tabletop Exercise
Who: Faculty/Staff/Students
When: December 17 with two sessions available (9 a.m. – noon and 1 – 4 p.m.)
Where: Houston Cole Library RM 1101-B

UPD exercise offers flexibility:

  • Offering two sessions to accommodate individual schedules
  • Training time will be dictated by participants
  • Send individuals from your department or send your entire department

A few points of discussion will be:

  • Lock down procedures
  • Current response and reporting procedures
  • Ability to protect the campus community
  • Coping with an emergency event on campus
  • Identifying weaknesses and making improvements before an actual emergency
