JSU to Host Emerging Leaders Day on February 28

01/22/2013

Jacksonville State University will host its 13th Annual Emerging Leaders’ Day on February 28, 2013. This event will give high school juniors from more than 120 schools in 16 counties in Alabama and Georgia the opportunity to hear from a nationally-recognized motivational speaker, participate in leadership activities, and speak with JSU student leaders about college life. Counselors will select three students to participate from their high school's junior class who hold leadership roles and are interested in growing their leadership skills. There is no cost to attend. Students will enjoy lunch on campus as our guests and learn about the college search and application process. Students will even have the chance to earn prizes at the event, and one attending student will win JSU’s Emerging Leaders Scholarship for the 2014-15 academic year.

This year’s event will feature, Carl “Energizer” Olson as the motivational speaker. Olson is a nationally known and respected speaker, trainer, and author. He has presented to nearly three-quarters of a million people throughout the United States and Canada. His diverse talents allow him to have an impact with a wide variety of audiences. The groups that he presents to include all ages of youth, educational staff, teams, non-profit organizations, businesses and corporate groups. Our program will focus on the personal and academic enrichment of all students who attend.

Jacksonville State University is looking forward to providing this unique educational opportunity to another great group of students!
