giftsFor more than ten years the Jacksonville State University Student Social Work Club has collected Christmas presents for children who attend the Boys and Girls club in Jacksonville.  This year more than 40 presents were collected by students, faculty, and staff of the Department of Sociology and Social Work from our Angel Tree.  These gifts were distributed by Santa Claus to children of all ages on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at the Boys and Girls Club in Jacksonville.

Students and faculty from the Department of Sociology and Social Work also provided pizza, soda, and snacks for children to enjoy while waiting for Santa Claus.  This year, the students who assisted with the party included:  Nena Poe, Jenna Smith, Katherine Guevara, Jessica Elston, and  Billy Martinez (aka Santa Claus).  Faculty who assisted with this party included Jonathan Adams and Maureeen Newton.
