Pedestrian, Campus Safety Day is September 25

09/24/2012

JSU Peer Educators and University Police will sponsor Pedestrian Safety Day on Tuesday, September 25, 2011. The purpose of this event is to promote traffic safety for pedestrians as well as motorists on campus.

An information table will be set up in the lobby of Brewer Hall from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Members of the JSU Peer Educators and the University Police Department will be at the table to share safety tips, traffic accident statistics and conduct student surveys. They will also be visible at various crosswalks on campus to promote pedestrian safety for students crossing roadways and seatbelt safety for campus drivers.

With the implementation of the student transit system, JSU has become a campus where more students are walking, biking, and riding the bus. Members of our campus community will need to be even more mindful of the safety of pedestrians. JSU Peer Educators and University Police trust that this event will help members of our campus community to consider the safety of themselves and those around them as they go from place to place. BE ALERT and BUCKLE UP!
