Gamecocks Rounding Up the Racers During JSU Homecoming, October 22-27

Get your lassos ready, Gamecocks, because it's almost time to round up the Racers!

Jacksonville State University Homecoming Week will take place October 22-27 and features an exciting slate of activities leading up to this year's homecoming game against the Murray State Racers on October 27 at 3 p.m. in JSU Stadium.

The JSU Student Government Association invites all students, campus organizations, faculty, staff and the community at-large to join them in embracing this year's theme, "Gamecocks, Rounding Up the Racers!"

Below is the schedule of homecoming related events, as well as important information for homecoming participants.

Parade, Banner and Door Decoration Entries

All parade entries including floats, small vehicles and pedestrian entries, as well as banner and door decoration participants who wish to be judged must be registered in the Office of Student Life. Deadline for entries is Monday, October 22 at 4:30 p.m. Entry forms must be turned in at the Office of Student Life, Room 402 Theron Montgomery Building.

Please Note:

• Parade line will set up on October 27 at 10 a.m.;
• Parade participants will be contacted to let you know when and where you will meet to line up.
• Banners will be judged at the Homecoming Pep Rally on October 25 at 8 p.m.;
• The top three banners will be announced and displayed in JSU Stadium.
• Decorated Doors will be judged on October 26.

2012 Homecoming King and Queen Contestant Application Information

The following information for Homecoming King/Queen hopefuls should be reviewed carefully and all required forms and contractual agreements (below the schedule) must be signed and returned to the Office of Student Life by the deadline. Thursday, September 27
Deadline for entry at 4:30 p.m. in the Office of Student Life, Room 402 TMB
NO FORMS OR FEES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE AND TIME. NO EXCEPTIONS!! A fee of $25.00 is due, at this time, from all contestants in order to participate in the Homecoming Pageant. Turn in your contestant fact sheet. (One Page only)

Friday, September 28
Homecoming Pageant Contestant Meeting at 3 p.m. in TMB Auditorium- This meeting is mandatory. If you are unable to attend this meeting, you must contact Jade Wagner at (256) 782-8493.

Thursday, October 4
First Rehearsal at 6 p.m. in Leone Cole Auditorium

Monday, October 8
Second Rehearsal at 7 p.m. in Leone Cole Auditorium

Tuesday, October 9
Dress Rehearsal at 7 p.m. in Leone Cole Auditorium

Please be on time to all rehearsals.

Wednesday, October 10
JSU Homecoming Pageant at 7 p.m. in Leone Cole Auditorium
Contestants need to be at Leone Cole by 6 p.m.

Publicity Pictures
The top ten will have their pictures taken the same night following the JSU Homecoming Pageant.
